Moving into their third season of 11-a-side football, this squad excelled last season, narrowly missing out on the Championship

Having the ability and the belief to move up a Division, this squad should perform equally well this year and looks forward to another promotion push

(Can somebody please tell Scott how & when to use a capital letter - the Scottish Education System has a lot to answer for!!!)

a great opener for the team. this is the score we should have beaten this team by last season and is another show to the league why we should not be in this division. i will try to not go on about that too much this season. the villa kicked off in their new white kits and 24 seconds later chiney were picking the ball out the net. surely the quickest goal a) the villa and be) jpg have scored. he then scored again quickly and basically the goals kept coming. great to get oliver and jamie b on the score sheet in their 1st games, jamie with a good header from a corner. by the end it was so comfortable i let james monk play up front and he said thank you with a goal. we played some lovely football at times. these boys are working hard at getting the ball on the floor and playing football. we rarely just kick and hope. the vision of some of the passing was excellent. i felt all the new boys had good games. i felt jp had a great game on the right, with great pace and a top drawer delivery from a cross or corners. he was close with a couple of free kicks too. curtis also showed some lovely touches and his pace and strength caused them problems till he came off. even though it was 13-1 i felt we defended really well. i felt all that played at the back played well but i thought ( especially as he had missed the thursday game) jack had a great game. didn't miss a tackle and his reading of the game was excellent. though just ahead was jamie h at the back. top drawer defending. he was playing against a striker who was quick, big and strong and as the cliche goes he had him in his pocket all game. an excellent display of defending. we will play stronger teams this season but if stockport vikings are the best division 3 have to offer i expect a very strong title challenge. well played to everyone and a great start to the season. oh and just to annoy you all their manager had the cheek to say we didn't like defending!!!!!! made me annoyed we let a goal in with the last kick of the game but if i'm honest they dserved it for not giving up. also i felt their goalie (even though he let in 13) had a great game-could have been 20 with a poor keeper.
